Fran Brimble was a punk in Cardiff. She grew up and went to school in the Roath area.

I do remember going for my interview and it was the first interview I had when I left school. I was quite nervous. My mum said you have got to dress properly you'll have to wear a skirt. I never wore a skirt and I wasn't very chuffed about it. So I bought a skirt, bought some tights which I never wore in my life and went down to the bus stop to get the bus to come into the interview and the bus was just pulling up. I thought oh my god I am going to be late for my interview ran to get the bus fell in the street, ripped all my tights which cost me £3 and my knee was ripped to shreds. I thought what can I do? If I went home to change I would miss the interview anyway so I might as well just go and if I don't, well if I don't go I won't get it anyway. So I spent the whole interview trying to pull my skirt down over my knee with all this blood congealing. I think I was in such a bad mood I wasn't nervous at all. I was just thinking bollocks get me out of here! So when I got home they rang me and said I had got the job. I was like all right then .ok. I put it down to being a lucky fall really. If I hadn't fallen I would have been so nervous that I wouldn't have been able to speak.

That actually happened outside Roath Library on Newport
