Grassroots was kind of like a meeting place and being in the centre of town it was quite close for the punks coming down from the Valley's to come and meet up in the centre of town. Charles Street used to be a vibrant street. They used to have the Charles Street Carnival every year, that stopped quite a while ago but every year they would have this carnival where people would dress up and there would be live bands and stuff like that. It wasn't Rio but it was good fun and there would be stalls and food and stuff. It was good fun.
