There was also a firm called Volpurts, now they did sell all sorts of sou'westers and oil skins and that and back about 50 years ago, this man was hung for it he was a black bloke. Right till the end he swore he wasn't guilty and they have given him a pardon you see and they have taken his grave- they always buried the men they hung in the prisons yard and apparently they used to throw quick lime over them so they would rot away quicker. They exhumed his body about two years ago and put him up in the cemetery. It was unhallowed ground you see the prison.
