I remember the canal because we used to catch a bus to the castle and then we would walk along Kingsway and then you could get down onto the towpath and walk right along. On Whit Monday in Black weir Fields there used to be a big Fete for Nazareth house, so we walked up the side of the canal and there would be all stalls set up and races for the children. It was a great day out.
